April Sports Update from KSSC

Our Senior Football Team are having a great season. On Sunday they won the Leamington District Divison 4 League Cup Final beating Warwick Printing 5-2 and with a few games to go they are well placed to become League champions.  A brilliant team effort, congratulations and well done to all the the players and management.

Our Snooker teams are also having a great season. Our 'A' team won their league and the 'B' side who have three players who are playing their first season are currently fourth with two games to play. A special mention to Ed Millard who won his singles Competition and had the second highest break in  his league.

Bowls have been busily preparing for their new season. Improvement and maintenance work has continued to improve both the green, pavilion, storage facilities and surrounds and, weather permitting, the green should be open for practice from Friday April 20th. New Bowlers of all ages and skill levels are very welcome and coaching is available.

Our Cricket Section have been busy. A grant from the Warwickshire Cricket Board will allow them to replace the sightscreens and install  a digital scoreboard. Signing in day will be Saturday April 21st and in the evening there will be another of the Section's popular Quizzes (all welcome). The season starts on  May 5th and coaching takes place on Wednesday (Seniors), Thursday (Juniors) and Friday (Cricket Fundamentals).

Biffa Award

The Club has been awarded a Grant of £10,880.51 by BIFFA. The Grant will be used to complete the ECO project that we started in 2011, specifically we will replace windows and associated fascia, reposition and replace the existing emergency exit with a modern double glazed unit, remove old ducts and replace the existing ceiling, replace the existing lighting with modern LED, all of this work to be carried out in the Top Bar and Snooker Room. Additional funding was received from the Bruce Wake Charitable Trust (£2000) and KMF2017 (£1080).

KSSC would like to put on record their gratitude to Biffa, Bruce Wake Charitable Trust and KMF2017 Committee and Helpers for their generosity in providing the funds that will allow this work to proceed.
