Kineton U11's 2:1 Harbury U11's
This match was a repeat of last season's final game and again was very exciting and close.
Some great football was played during the match, in particular from Kineton which helped to counter us having a younger team. At times the Kineton passing was great to watch with many good flowing moves keeping possession very well. We had two players making their debuts for the club; well done to Harry and Tom who both showed great skill and determination. Our Mr Reliable in goal Ben came to our rescue a few times in the first two quarters and he was well deputised by Piers in the second half - our goalkeeper training must be working!! Harbury's goalkeeper had a great game also and proved very difficult to beat. Both teams had a number of chances making it a great spectacle. Kineton broke the deadlock with a well stuck shot by Zach from outside of the area low into the bottom corner of the goal. Harbury equalised after a valiant effort by the defence and Ben to clear the ball. In a tight match we decide to try and play our wilcard in the final quarter playing Bertie as forward, this seemed to work as he held the ball up well and his efforts led to us winning a penalty. Captain Zach stepped up and scored to win the match. Well done all encouraging signs for this season. Today's MoM was Zach.
Kineton U9's 2:6 Tysoe U9's
First game of the new season saw the arrival of Tysoe – for a 7 a side match the away team brought 15 players against the home team who mustered a total of 9 young warriors.
With this in mind it was decided that we would play 9 a side which left Tysoe with 6 substitutes to use over the match.
The match started off at an electric pace and within the first quarter Tysoe were 2nil up.
Quarter 2 saw a goal from Oliver Norton –Kahn off the rebound from an 18 yard shot from Charlie Moore – ( things were looking up )
Quarter 3 and Tysoe scored a third but it was not long before Charlie Moore rattled the cross bar and then was finally rewarded with an unstoppable shot ( Jan Molby in the making )
Quarter 4 and it was 3-2 – the legs were tiring and the concentration just seemed to disappear and before we knew it Tysoe had scored 3 – it was 6 -2, it was a great Team performance for the first League Match the boys had played together but leaves us with some work to do on the training field before our next outing in a fortnight.

HarburyU9's 2:0 Kineton U9's
A full turn out again of all the Kineton Under 9's.
Starting line up as follows
GK – Charlie S
DEF – Arthur, Jack, Isaac, Samuel
MID – Charlie A, Oliver
FOR – Charlie M, Noah.
A very well matched game mainly fought in the middle of the park
Harbury took the lead in the 1st quarter and there was very little between the 2 teams – the 2nd goal game in the last quarter when we threw everything at them – there was some tired legs out there so its another thing to work on in training but there was some great passing and the team work is coming together, a win cant be too far away surely.

Tysoe Trojans U11's 5:0 Kineton U11's
This was a difficult match to play for both teams in the challenging weather conditions. Well done to both teams for trying so hard and not moaning about the weather (certainly less than the parents/ coaches did!!).
Kineton started the match strongly and their good passing saw them dominate possession. This would become a theme of the match with Kineton unable to capitalise on chances and Tysoe able to very well. The first goal came in the opening quarter after a long kick from the Tysoe goalkeeper bounced awkwardly allowing the Tysoe striker to run in on goal and score. In the second quarter Tysoe scored two more goals from fast breaks after Kineton attacks. The third quarter saw one goal in the same manner as the previous two. In the final quarter full credit to Kineton who started to break down the organsied Tysoe defence better and had many shots. The final goal came from confusion in the Kineton defence after a corner. Overall a very good performance from Kineton were the passing game at times was great to watch. Difficult to choose a MoM but Ethan was chosen for his great runs up the right wing and crosses.

Kineton U11's 6:2 Tysoe Tornadoes
Why do we not play more footballl in summer rather than winter? Both teams did well today in challenging cold and windy conditions to put on an excellent match.
Most of the football today was really pleasing to watch. The short passing and movement from Kineton at times was superb and like watching professional teams play. Only 2 or 3 times were players caught or tackled in possession which shows great teamwork and willingness to play together. The first quarter finished 0:0 with some good saves from both goalkeepers and Tom in particular showing great skills in the centre of midfield. In the second quarter Tysoe broke the deadlock after a great save from Piers the follow-up made it into the net. This seemed to spark Kineton into taking more shots with three goals being scored. Firstly Zach with a good high shot into the net in a crowded penalty area, secondly Harry with a long shot which deceived the goalkeeper and thirdly Ben scoring after a good run and cross from Matt. The third quarter saw lots of chances but only one goal for Harry which was the result of good pressing from the team. In the final quarter Harry completed his hatrick with a good finish after a lovley flicked pass from Jack. Tysoe managed to finally beat Ben with goal when they outnumbered us in defence. Finally Jack rounded off the match with a well taken shot in the area. All played well today special mentions to Charlie for his strong tackling and passing in midfield, James for his defending before the cold got the better of him, Ethan for tracking back from midfield and Piers for great play in and out of goals (shame his goal was disallowed). Difficult to choose but Harry was today's MoM for his strong running, passing and three goals.

Kineton U9's 1:4 Byfield U9's
GK Charlie S
Def – Samuel, Arthur, Isaac
Mid – Oliver, Jayden,
For – Charlie M, Noah
What a difference a year makes!
The boys were up against it from the whistle – apart from Charlie & Arthur everyone else was dwarfed – they must eat their greens across the border…
We played 8 a side – it was a good opportunity for all that could play to play and so they did.
We took the game to them but they were very strong – we created few chances as most of the play was in the middle of the park and in our final third – however we had at least 6 corners but couldn’t convert –Byfield managed to score 1 goal in each quarter and our goal came in the 3rdquarter courtesy of leading goal scorer Charlie Moore – he picked the ball up on the halfway line and after rounding 2 players he let one fly and it was too high for the keeper to see – it was 3-1 – was there a way back – we pressed and pressed but on doing so we let them through and it was only a matter of time as the ball pinged in and around our penalty area that they put the final nail in.
Our boys showed great promise and Oliver had some great runs up the wing, Samuel made some crucial clearances and Arthur and Charlie interchanged between Defense and Attack tirelessly.
Another day and it could have been different..
A great all round performance so lets hope for a change of fortune on the 12th against Byfield Under 8's….
Special thanks to Russ for referring and son Ethan for running the line – without them both the game couldn’t have taken place (thank you both).

Kineton U11s 7:0 Harbury U10s
A real treat on the final game of the year with some impressive football on show. In blustery conditions boths teams coped well and played good football. The game also starred a great performance from a familiar face in the Harbury team.......a guest performance from Charlie M.
The match started evenly and Kineton failed to take their chances until Matt had a shot deflected which went into the net. The second quarter Harbury came close to scoring and hit the post after a good build up. Kineton scored through Harry after taking up a good position and a great pass from Bertie. Matt then scored again after some neat passing from the team his shot went in off a post. Tom showed great composure and decision making in centre midfield. In the third quarter the next goal came from a free-kick on the edge of the box which was shot low into the corner by Matt. Then a momentus moment after many years playing for the team (mostly in defence) Bertie scored his first goal for Kineton with a powerful shot into the right side of the goal giving the goalkeeper no chance. James ran and ran in midfield and showed good passing in this quarter and Piers had a great shot saved well by the Harbury goalkeeper. In the final quarter Harbury tired as they had no substitutes and Joshua in goals did not see the ball much. Harry scored a geat goal in the top corner from outside of the box. Kineton played a number of 1:2s today and Zach was involved with most of them so it was apt he sored the final goal after another good move. Ben was captain again and led the team really well mainly playing outfield. Well done to Joshua today who made his debut for the team and showed some good tackling and passing a great addition to the squad.
Difficult choice for MoM today but it went to Matt for his hard work, crossing and goals.

Kineton U9's 1:3 Harbury U9's
We played 9 a side and had 1 substitute to rotate.
Q1 - Kineton took an early lead through Charlie M - a through ball from Arthur found Charlie on the edge of the area and with a well taken shot left the goalie with no chance. Kineton continued to press forward and the game was being played firmly in the middle of the park. Harbury had a corner and this was unfortunately turned into the Kineton net through one of our own so it was 1-1 at the end of Q1.
Q2 – Both teams started brightly but it was another corner which undone Kineton – clearly we need to focus on this at training over the next few weeks.
Q3 – Again both teams continue to press but from a throw in Harbury struck a shot near to the by line which flew into the net – I don’t think even Joe Hart would have stopped that one.
Q4 – Both teams were attacking and were matching each other through the park – this was good football but no goals this quarter
The game finished 3-1 – there was a little disappointment from Kineton but more of admiration for Harbury – they played some good football and we did too, this time next year – well who knows but our boys certainly did themselves proud
If there was to be MOTM then this honour should go to Jayden – he played 3 of the 4 quarters and worked his socks off – his best performance to date in a Kineton shirt.

Kineton U11's 1:6 Tysoe Trojans
Well another battle against the weather as much as the two teams again today. Both teams did very well in the conditions to put on some really good passing football in a very competitive match.
The first fifteen minutes were very closely contested and the scores were 2:1, Tysoe seemed to thrive more later and deservedly came out victors in the match. On another day Kineton would have taken more of their chances to make the scoreline closer but it wasn't to be.
Kineton's goal was a typically well works more with Jack squeezing the goal in past the Tysoe keeper. But for some frantic defending after one corner Jack, Matt, Bertie and Charle M all had chances to score. We battled well in midfield credit must go to Harry, Ben, Matt, Bertie, Ethan and Tom for all of their running in midfield. Jack got into space really well up front. Well doen to the younger boys that joined the squad Arthur and Charlie M who both made great accounts of themselves. Our star man today though was Joshua who put in tackle after tackle in defence.
Saturday the 11th of February
Kineton U9s 0:4 Tysoe U8s
A barnstorming game this one with lots of effort put in by both teams. Kineton were down on numbers and all the players put in a great amount of effort throughout the match coming off at the end looking exhausted.
A goal was scored in each quarter unfortunately for Kineton all by Tysoe. Each goal was celebrated as if it was the winning world cup goal, well done to the Kineton players for taking this in their stride. Kineton had opportunties to score and a number of corners but just could not finish their opportunities. A lot of the game was played in midfield with some strong lates being put in, special mention to Charlie A, Charlie M, Jayden and Arthur for their determination. Solid defence was shown by the 'Minecraft crew' Isaac and Jack breaking up many attacks. Oliver looked confident in goals and in the last quarter when he came outfield was full of running as usual.
Difficult to pick a MoM with so much effort put in by all today.
